There is a lot to see in the hills, and a lot that has been spoilt too, in the way that human activity expresses itself - the house chose to see what it wanted and blanked the rest. The early abstract of the house started with an image of a woman with fishnet stockings, gazing selectively through a mesh; and since then it got called - a house with selective vision.
It did this by a set of techniques of carefully designing the apertures, or by creating large flanking walls to express a sense of interiority; a court that framed the sky. It is a medley of materials, from stone-crete walls, immaculate exposed concrete surfaces, to spaces made in corten steel.
But what perhaps was most satisfying was the use of wood for the large apertures and for decks. Wood that is weather proof, stable and not prone to giving any of the problems that one associates with the material today.
